NuraLogix Partners with LaFiya TeleHealth
NuraLogix, one of the leading HealthTech AI companies, has announced a new partnership with LaFiya TeleHealth, a Nigerian-based telehealth platform that provides 24/7 virtual healthcare services to residents in remote and rural areas.
LaFiya Telehealth provides medical care to patients in Nigeria’s urban and rural areas. Patients can use the platform to connect with doctors and pharmacists regardless of their location or financial status in order to receive prescriptions, schedule drug delivery, have virtual consults, and more.
LaFiya Telehealth has incorporated NuraLogix’s Anura, a game-changing product that uses patented transdermal optical imaging (TOI) technology to provide contactless vital sign monitoring, into a new service offering known as the “AI HealthChecker.” Patients can receive instant medical-grade health and wellness measurements after taking a 30-second video selfie using the LaFiya website, app, or kiosk. The vital sign measurements can be shared with regional healthcare professionals via email or SMS for diagnosis, treatment, and medical advice. This integration enables patients to have a better understanding of their health, and provides medical professionals with the appropriate information to assess, triage, and recommend treatment. The “AI HealthChecker” is currently integrated into 10 hospitals, 10 medical lab centers, and over 1500 pharmacies across Nigeria.
On January 17, 2022, the integration of NuraLogix’s Anura into the LaFiya AI HealthChecker began and is now complete. The “AI HealthChecker” currently has over 540 users who have tested the service and provided positive feedback.
This integration will not only improve access to healthcare for rural residents, but it will also aid in the eradication of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in Nigeria and reduce maternity and infant mortality rates. Some regions currently have only one hospital within 100 kilometres that serves a population of more than 35,000 people, leaving patients without access to healthcare or with a lengthy travel journey.
Other advantages of this collaboration include lower healthcare delivery costs and the prevention of “brain drain,” which occurs when talented professionals leave the region to seek employment elsewhere.
The integration of the mobile version is the next step in this collaboration. LaFiya Telehealth also intends to continue forming alliances with local health providers, hospitals, governments, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), schools, and organisations in order to develop care models for underserved areas.
