Pega Introduces Pega Platform Templates, Training Courses, & Services
Pegasystems has unveiled new Pega Platform templates, training courses, and services to help citizen developers construct low-code applications faster and more effectively than ever before.
By driving the adoption of low code across all types of business users, these tools can drastically reduce IT backlogs while controlling risk through good governance.
Professional developer demand currently exceeds talent availability, making it nearly hard for underfunded IT teams to reconcile building new apps with solving existing backlogs and preserving legacy code. As a result, corporations are turning to citizen coders to complete tasks. Gartner reports that 41 percent of employees outside of IT now tailor or build data or technological solutions. However, if undertaken without sufficient governance or by using platforms not sanctioned or supported by company IT, citizen development can create silos as well as increase risk and expenses.
Pega’s low-code factory approach empowers citizen developers by combining a no-code development environment with technology-supported governance that automates best practice enforcement while providing IT leaders with tools to foster innovation while ensuring security, scalability, and maintainability. To further support citizen development, Pega introduced the following new features, coursework, and services:
* Application templates for simplified, intelligent workflows: Citizen developers require an environment in which they can build programs easily, swiftly, and safely. Pega launched new application templates for Pega App Factory to expedite time to value. These templates automate basic business processes like information collection, requests and approvals management, employee onboarding, and task management. Citizen developers may create intelligent workflows fast, safely, and without the need for direct interaction by professional developers using these simple, no-code templates.
* Coursework designed for citizen developers: Pega Academy currently offers courses that enable developers of all skill levels to train themselves in Pega. Citizen developers can now access Low-Code Maker Mission, a new educational experience designed with the business user in mind. Available for free, this course — which can be completed in about 90 minutes — is specifically designed to help new makers acquire skills needed to create their first app in a well-governed and scalable environment.
* Low-code Factory Accelerator: Clients will work with Pega Consulting Services to create citizen development initiatives. The Low-code Factory Accelerator, which will be available in Q3 2022, will aid in the establishment of a sustainable, technology-assisted operating model based on Pega’s Low-code Factory approach, including training for practice managers, coaching citizen developers to build applications, and developing roadmaps for reusable integrations and shared components. Through business-IT alignment, organizations will have a solid platform for citizen development that is supported by governance, trust, and security.
Enterprises can use these new capabilities and education courses to collaborate with citizen developers to advance their knowledge and jumpstart their app development and innovation. PegaWorld iNspire, Pega’s annual conference, will be held online on May 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. EDT for the Americas and Europe, and again on May 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. AEST for Asia Pacific.
